Saudi Vision 2030 introduced a new development approach for the municipal sector, aiming to develop and expand the services provided to citizens both in quantity and quality, to keep pace with the growing aspirations of the population.
The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing has aligned its objectives to serve this goal based on a set of core pillars, including developing city infrastructure, automating all services to make them easier and more effective, humanizing cities, and achieving financial sustainability as enablers of high-quality institutional performance.
The Ministry, in turn, cascaded the strategy, its objectives, and its targets to the affiliated municipalities to strengthen local administration and enable it to activate the strategy and achieve its targets across regions and cities.
Recognizing the importance of keeping pace with developments and working within that integrated national framework, Jouf Region Municipality has prepared an integrated strategy to be the executing body for the sector's directions and the enabler of the Vision's objectives in the region.
The Municipality works — through improving the urban landscape of the region's cities, strengthening health oversight, and developing other service systems including cleanliness, public health, land allocation, increasing community participation, improving revenues, and maintaining roads and facilities — to prepare a distinguished urban environment fully ready to absorb the urban and economic growth the region will witness in the coming years.
It also seeks the means to ensure a decent life for citizens, in implementation of the wise policies of the prudent leadership, within the framework of unlimited support for development, foremost among which is the citizen — the cornerstone of comprehensive renaissance, God willing.
